He earlier served as Press Holdings Media Group’s CEO and editor-in-chief. He was named the first chairman of Sky TV, a division of News Corporation owned by Rupert Murdoch, in 1988. From 1990 to 2020, he was employed by the BBC and hosted a number of shows, including Sunday Politics, This Week, Politics Live, and The Andrew Neil Show on BBC One and BBC Two, respectively.
