Coloured Photographs From Across History (photos)

When we come across historical pictures, we have always noticed that most of the photos are not coloured but rather black and white.

According to Wikipedia, The foundation of all practical color processes, the three-color method was first suggested in an 1855 paper by Scottish physicist James Clerk Maxwell, with the first color photograph produced by Thomas Sutton for a Maxwell lecture in 1861.

However, it doesn’t change the fact that majority of historical pictures were in black and white. Your desire to see historical pictures come to life has been granted today! Alan Turing, English mathematician, computer scientist, logician, cryptanalyst, philosopher and theoretical biologist. He was a pioneer in many fields, and best known as a key contributor to breaking the Enigma code during World War Two. He is considered father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence. Turing was not fully recognised during his life due to the fact that he was a homosexual, and this was illegal in Britain at the time. The government’s treatment is believed to be a key reason why he committed suicide at the age of 41 in June 1954.
