How Marc Leishman Met His Wife Audrey Hills
Audrey Hills and Marc Leishman first met in Williamsburg, Virginia, at a bar. Leishman was in the area for a Korn Ferry Tour Monday qualifier, while Audrey was out with friends before going to a concert.
Audrey became extremely ill five years after the couple married, with doctors suspecting sepsis. Audrey, on the other hand, had toxic-shock syndrome, a rare, life-threatening complication of certain bacterial infections.
She also had acute respiratory distress syndrome, which occurs when fluid accumulates in the lungs’ small, elastic air sacs. Audrey was placed in an induced coma for four days in order to diagnose the illnesses.
Marc, who was preparing for The Masters at the time, flew home right away.
Following their ordeal, the couple established the Begin Again Foundation in 2016, with the goal of saving lives through sepsis and toxic shock syndrome education and awareness, providing financial assistance to survivors and families, and supporting communities during times of crisis.
