A team of medics routinely visited the 69-year-old Russian president at his residences or accompanied him on outings, according to Russian investigative news source Proekt, amid rising concerns about his health.

According to the newspaper, Yevgeny Selivanov, an oncology surgeon specializing in thyroid cancer, flew 35 times to Putin’s Black Sea villa and spent 166 days in his company.

Igor Esakov and Alexei Shcheglov, two otolaryngologists (ear, nose, and throat experts), paid even more visits to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the article, Alexei Shcheglov travelled to see Putin 59 times and spent a total of 282 days with him between 2016 and 2020.

Thyroid illnesses, including cancer, are usually detected by an otolaryngologist, who then refers the patient to an oncologist and a surgeon for treatment, according to a doctor.

By looking at hotel lodging contracts published on the government procurement website, the publication was able to figure out which doctors spent time with Putin at his Sochi mansion.

According to the article, the times that doctors stayed at hotels in Sochi corresponded to Putin’s official visits to the city or periods when he strangely withdrew from public view.

According to the research, the average number of medics in Putin’s entourage increased from five in 2016 and 2017 to nine in 2019.

Anesthetists, a neurosurgeon, an infectious diseases specialist, and an intensive care doctor were among the other members of the team.

According to the site, the number of medics attending to Putin in Sochi increased on occasion when he was undergoing surgery or a critical treatment, most likely on his back.

According to the story, Putin has reportedly begun soaking in blood extracted from severed deer antlers as a kind of alternative therapy.

On the advice of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Russian President Vladimir Putin began this alternative therapy. Deer blood is thought to help the cardiovascular system and skin rejuvenation.

The deer’s horns are removed while they are still alive, and animal rights campaigners have compared the procedure to taking out a person’s fingernails.

For years, there has been significant conjecture about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s health.

Putin has long developed a macho strongman image, and the Kremlin has kept his health problems a secret.

During the COVID-19 outbreak, Putin went into self-imposed exile and was later photographed holding meetings with international leaders while seated at one end of a long table.

For the month of September 2021, Putin was not seen in public. According to the publication, he underwent a complex treatment related to thyroid condition, according to medical circles.

In recent images, the Russian president’s face has appeared visibly fat, prompting speculation that he is using steroids, which are commonly used to treat thyroid cancer.

Putin’s health has been a source of contention for the Kremlin in the past, with a spokeswoman declaring in 2020 that his health was “great.”
