Fola Evans-Akingbola Background/Parents
Evans-Akingbola was born in London to Dr. Gillian Evans, an English anthropologist, and Sola Akingbola, a Nigerian musician (of the band Jamiroquai). She grew up in Bermondsey with her sister and went to Dulwich for her education. At the National Youth Theatre and the Identity School of Acting, she acquired acting training.

Evans-Akingbola worked as a model before becoming a professional actor. Youngers and Holby City were her first acting roles on the BBC.
Evans-Akingbola was cast in the popular HBO series Game of Thrones as the (unnamed) second wife of Khal Moro during series 6 while appearing on a third BBC series, Death in Paradise.
She appears in a 2019 episode of Netflix’s Black Mirror (a continuation of the Channel 4 series that premiered in 2011) as Mariella, a younger Millennial woman dating Karl (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), the episode’s co-protagonist. She’s been a key character on Siren since 2018, as marine biologist Madelyn Bishop. She’s also done vocal work for Assassin’s Creed video games and created, co-wrote, and produced a short film called Grandma’s 80th Surprise.
She received her training at the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and London’s Identity Drama School. Fola has worked on internationally acclaimed projects such as Black Mirror (Netflix) and Siren (Freeform/HULU) since breaking into the industry in 2014. She’s presently filming Season 1 of Call My Agent in the United Kingdom (2021). In VS., she played the female lead opposite Connor Swindells. The film, which was made in collaboration with BBC Films, Wildgaze Films, and Silvertown Films, is now available on Netflix. IAG in London and Luber Roklin Entertainment in Los Angeles represent her.

Fast forward to 2018, and many of these folks who have been paying taxes, having children, and becoming British citizens are still alive. Immigration policies have an impact on them.
