Frank McGarvey Cause of Death: Pancreatic Cancer

Frank McGarvey died on New Year’s Day 2023. He was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in 2022 which he has been battling with. He opened up about his struggle with pancreatic cancer after making an appearance on the Parkhead pitch before the game against Hibernian in October 2022.

Frank McGarvey was married to Pauline McGarvey. They’d been married for nearly two decades. They were married from 1978 to 1997.

Frank McGarvey Career

Over the course of five years, McGarvey appeared 245 times for Celtic, scoring 113 goals. He won two League Championships, two Scottish Cups, and a Scottish League Cup during that time. However, Celtic manager David Hay had decided that Mo Johnston and Brian McClair would be his preferred forwards for the 1985-86 season and had declined to extend McGarvey’s contract. Six minutes before the end of the 1985 Scottish Cup Final, he scored the game-winning goal for Celtic.
