Since roughly 2009, Gatt has lived in Los Angeles with Mercy Malick, his girlfriend.

On April 6th, 2022, Joseph was detained by the Los Angeles Police Department for allegedly conducting sexually explicit online discussions with a kid. On the same day, he was released on $5,000 bond.

Gatt is most known for his parts in the movies Thor (2011), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), and Dumbo (2013). (2019).

He began his acting training at the Sylvia Young Theatre School before enrolling in the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, where he earned a bachelor’s degree.
