It is no longer news that top Hollywood actor Lance Reddick passed away on Friday March 17, 2023. His death and sad passing shocked the world as many fans are even yet to recover from the shock of the news of the star who also featured in Blockbuster movies especially John Wick.

Lance Reddick Career

Lance Reddick, an accomplished American actor and musician, was born on December 31, 1962, in Baltimore, Maryland. He is best known for his roles in popular television series such as “The Wire,” “Fringe,” and “Bosch,” as well as his appearances in the “John Wick” film franchise.

Raised in a middle-class family in Baltimore, Reddick developed a love for music at a young age, particularly classical compositions and jazz. He attended the Peabody Preparatory Institute, where he studied classical composition and music theory. After graduating from Friends School of Baltimore, he pursued his passion for music at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. However, after two years, Reddick decided to shift his focus to acting and transferred to the Yale School of Drama.

Reddick’s acting career began in the theater, with appearances in various stage productions, including Shakespeare’s “Antony and Cleopatra” and “Cymbeline,” as well as August Wilson’s “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone.” His talent and dedication to the craft eventually led him to land small roles on television and in films.

Reddick gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Cedric Daniels, a tenacious and morally conflicted police officer, in the critically acclaimed HBO series “The Wire” (2002-2008).

In 2014, Reddick was cast as Charon, the enigmatic concierge of the Continental Hotel, in the action-thriller film “John Wick.” He reprised his role in the film’s sequels, “John Wick: Chapter 2” (2017) and “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” (2019). Reddick’s performance in the “John Wick” franchise has made him a recognizable figure in the action film genre.

Apart from his acting career, Reddick has maintained his passion for music. In 2007, he released his debut album, “Contemplations & Remembrances,” which showcases his skills as a singer and songwriter.

In his personal life, Reddick is married to Stephanie Day, a fellow actor, with whom he shares two children. The couple is known for keeping their private lives away from the public eye.

Lance Reddick’s family has not yet announced any funeral arrangements plan. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Reddick, whom he married in 2011, and their children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick
