Elizabeth Mary Truss studied philosophy, politics, and economics at Merton College in Oxford. She was born in Oxford.
She worked for Cable & Wireless and Shell after graduating before being hired as a deputy director of Reform in January 2008.
Since 2010, Liz has been the South West Norfolk MP. From 2014 to 2016, she served as Environment Secretary, and from 2016 to 2017, she served as Lord Chancellor and Justice Secretary. Since 2019, she has also served as the minister for women and equal rights.
In September 2021, she received a promotion from Secretary of International Trade to Secretary of State.
