Brother of Ebonyi Lawmaker Found Dead in Lawmaker’s Car Booth

It was a shocking news in Ebonyi state as the younger brother to a member representing Ebonyi North West in the State House of Assembly, Victor Aleke, was found dead in his own brother’s car booth. This is according to Tribuneonline.

The deceased, Mr Samuel Aleke, a middle-aged man reportedly left his house in the evening of Saturday 23rd of May 2020 and has not been seen until Sunday the 24th. He was surprisingly found in his lawmaker brother’s car, booth along Nkwagu axis of Abakaliki/Afikpo express road.

According to Tribuneonline, an eye witness and a relative of the family who vehemently refused to have his name disclosed, revealed that the deceased informed his wife that he was going to collect earpiece from a friend.

The source while pleading anonymity also stated that after several hours of waiting for his return to no avail, the deceased wife raised an alarm and a search ensued abruptly ending on Sunday when his body was allegedly found inside the car booth of a car belonging to his lawmaker brother.

His body is reported to have wounds on the face and back which could suggest he was beaten and strangled to death by his unknown assailants; even as investigations are already underway.
According to the source, there was no sign that Saturday, would be the last day Mr Aleke’s 3 kids and pregnant wife would see him alive. The source described the deceased as gentle and peace-loving.

Police Spokesperson, DSP Loveth Odah confirmed the incident and noted that the deceased’s corpse was recovered by the police along Nkwagu axis along Abakaliki/Afikpo express road in Ebonyi state.

The police spokesperson said

” The information available reveals that the deceased said he was going to collect earpiece and purchase recharge card.
