Foremost Nigerian online newspaper Sahara reporters has accused the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Godwill Emefiele of hypocrisy after documents obtained by the News agency showed the Governor flew his children and wife to the United Kingdom amid a total lockdown on flights in the country.
We do not know how Saharareporters obtained the document, but recall that the Federal Government had announced that ALL ESSENTIAL FLIGHTS WOULD BE PERMITTED BY AIR following the Covid-19 pandemic in the country; but in a document obtained by Sahara reporters, a flight manifest showed that the CBN governor allegedly broke the Federal rule by flying his wife and two children in a private jeta Global Express Bombardier 550 luxury jet with registration number N104DA. It costs at least $10,000 per hour – about N3.8m – to fly on this luxury jet. The jet reportedly left Nigeria on Monday, June 1, 2020 at about 8pm Nigerian time and arrived in the UK at 2:37am.
The flight was operated by Executive Jet Services, the same company that hit the net some weeks ago after flying Nairamarley, the Nigerian artiste.
