Popular, Renowned, and beloved Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie took to her Instagram page to heavily criticize Donald Trump and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro for the way they handled the COVID-19 pandemic, claiming they didn’t handle it well.
The Igbo icon, who is a legendary genius in writing, shared a video of herself listening to music from legendary Brazilian singer Xenia Franca as she disclosed that she’s thinking of Brazil, which she described as
“a country close to my heart.”
She further went ahead to point accusing fingers on Brazil and United states as they now have high numbers of Covid-19 cases.
She did not mince words as she hastily blamed these deaths on the presidents of Brazil and the USA, saying,
“Both countries have populist ‘leaders’ full of a vacuous braggadocio that would be funny if it didn’t have life and death consequences for so many. ?
“Their irresponsibility costs lives. ?Their fragile, brittle egos cost lives.? Real leadership matters.? Love to the people of Brazil.”

Thinking of Brazil, a country close to my heart. And listening to this beautiful Brazilian voice @xeniafranca Brazil now has the second highest number of Covid-19 cases, behind the United States. Both countries have populist ‘leaders’ full of a vacuous braggadocio that would be funny if it didn’t have life and death consequences for so many. Their irresponsibility costs lives. Their fragile, brittle egos cost lives. Real leadership matters. Love to the people of Brazil.
