Hushpuppi did not resist arrest and the whole process was peaceful and without any show of violence. The identities of the Dubai police and the FBI who escorted Hushpuppi out of the building are shrouded in mystery. His arrest soon became the number 1 topic on most all social media platforms in the country, with the story of his arrest on the lips of many who talked about it with vigour and rigour; it didn’t take quite long and various stories of why he was arrested started saturating many blogs and vlogs. Some vlogs even went as far as showing a photoshopped image of Hushpupi being led away by FBI agents. So the question, Why was Hushpuppi Arrested?
Why Hushpuppi Arrested by The FBI and Dubai Police: The Story of Hushpuppi
Hushpuppi is currently questioned by prosecutors and investigators at the Bur Dubai section in the United Arab Emirates; Hushpuppi is currently arrested on internet fraud allegations leveled against him by the United States. These sources also claim that he made away with funds meant for coronavirus victims in the United States.
The top Nigerian Fraud Investigation Agency, The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced after the arrest of Hushpuppi by the FBI and Dubai police that they were not part of the arrest of Hushpuppi. In a statement by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) boss, the commission has no hand in the investigation of Hushpuppi. However, Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) also said that they are willing to work with the FBI and the Dubai police to get to the absolute root of the matter.
Abike Dabiri-Enewa, Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora after learning of the arrest of Hushpuppi by the FBI and the Dubai police wasted no time in condemning the alleged accusations Hushpuppi was accused on, which basically centers on fraud.
Mrs Dabiri-Enewa stated that it was the likes of Hushpuppi who spoil the image of Nigeria and Nigerians abroad. Her points also bordered on the fact that when Nigerians are working legitimate jobs all through the day, some are still bent on trying to make money illegally, tarnishing the country’s image. She posted the tweet on Twitter where she is very active in;
Allegations against Ramoni Igbalode a k a Hushpuppi running into millions in fraud.I stress again ,not a yardstick to judge NiGERIANS excelling abroad . One bad apple should indeed not spoil the whole bunch https://t.co/oqLBfYmVgY

Hsuhpuppi now joins a long list of Nigerian nationals who have been caught by law enforcement agencies all across Europe, the United States and Asia on fraud allgations.
The Influence of The Story of Hushpuppi To Nigerian Youths
No doubt, Hushpuppi greatly influenced and still influences some Nigerian youths. These influences tend to be in a negative light as many of these youths who have witnessed the luxury and enormous wealth Hushpuppi displayed on Social media; are in an uncontrollable frenzy to make money in whatever means, how ever they can, and in whatever way. A good number of these Nigerian youths have long opted for internet fraud as the last hope and final bus stop to acquire unimaginable wealth in a very short time. The world is moving at a very fast pace and many do not want to be left out, hence they are willing to do just anything to make money.
The private jets, cars, and luxury shown on social media has blinded the eyes of many Nigerian youths who want to make it big “Just like Hushpuppi did”
The fact remains, Hushpuppi will NEVER be forgotten by Nigerians. At least to an extent he is successful with a following base of over 2 million followers on Instagram, his all-time favourite social media platform. While we wait for the Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI), The Dubai police, and other investigators and prosecutors to finish their investigations on Hushpuppi, we hope his arrest and possibly incarceration will not further fuel the already set trend, pattern and purported character that most Nigerians are scammers.
Some Nigerians are of the opinion that the arrest of Hushpuppi by the FBI and the Dubai police will further haunt Nigerians who try to do legitimate business with foreigners who might suspect them of being Fraudsters when they are not.
FINAL NOTICE: Hushpuppi has not yet been found guilty in a court on all the allegations on him.
