Osas Ighodaro (born Osariemen Martha Elizabeth Ighodaro on October 26) is a Nigerian-American actress, producer, host, and humanitarian who was born in the United States.

She won the Miss Black USA Pageant in 2010 and went on to found The Joyful Joy Foundation, which raises funds and awareness for the Malaria battle. She also co-hosted the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in 2014.

She won Best TV Actress of the Year at the 2014 ELOY Awards for her performance as Adanna (Danni) on the soap opera Tinsel. In 2018, Osas was the highest-grossing Nollywood actress.


As a beauty queen, she has graced the covers of various top magazines and has received numerous Nollywood awards. She is also well-known for being on the front lines of the malaria war. Her marriage to Ajibade was also a catalyst that catapulted her into the spotlight.

Her elementary and secondary education took place in the Bronx, New York. Osas earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Pennsylvania State University, as well as minors in Entrepreneurship and Theatre. She later went on to receive a Master in Fine Arts in Acting from Pace University’s Actor’s Studio Drama School. Her career as an actress, spokeswoman, humanitarian, and the 2010 Miss Black USA has taken her all over the United States and the world.

When Osas Ighodaro Ajibade arrived in Nigeria, he saw the various virgin opportunities in the Nollywood entertainment industry. Her career as a Nollywood actress began with this film. Her Nollywood debut was in the film Tinsel, where she played Adanna.

She was persuaded that, in comparison to Hollywood, Nigeria would provide her with more lead roles in numerous films and television shows. As a result, she decided to continue and pursue her acting career full-time.

Gbenro Ajibade was the actress’s husband. He is a model, actress, and producer best known for his role on the daytime show Tinsel, which he has been on since 2008. In July 2015, Osas and Gbenro exchanged vows.

Their wedding took place in the United States, with families, friends, and fellow actors and actresses in attendance.

Unfortunately for Osas Ighodaro and Gbenro Ajibade, their union did not last long before marital storms struck, resulting in divorce. They unfollowed each other on social media, called each other names, and ultimately divorced as a result of their breakup.

Even though Gbenro was seen flaunting with a lady on social media in early 2020, neither of them has remarried. He did not, though, come forward and say whether or not they were dating.
