On Friday, March 18 2022, Markelle Antonio Morrow, a Maryland rapper known as Goonew, was shot and died in District Heights, MD. Officers responded to reports of a gunshot in the 3400 block of Walters Lane around 5:40 p.m., and the person was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 7:30 p.m., according to the Prince George’s County Police Department. The name of the victim was eventually revealed by Morrow’s manager to The Washington Post. He was 24 years old at the time.
