A massive school shooting occurred in Texas, killing 14 children and one adult. Salvador Ramos, the perpetrator, was shot and killed by the police on the spot.

At approximately 12.17 p.m., an active shooter was reported at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, causing chaos. Despite the fact that authorities arrived on the scene quickly, they were unable to save the lives of 15 innocent people.

After arriving at Uvalde Memorial Hospital, two people were found dead, and the remaining 13 took their last breath there. Several other children and adults were also injured, according to officials, and are being treated.

According to multiple sources, the suspect parked his truck near the school and entered the building, where he began firing at random people.

Around 11:30 a.m., the shooter is thought to have entered the school. CDT. The shooting began two minutes later, according to the Uvalde CISD Police Chief, and the school was placed on lockdown at 11:43 a.m. in response to gunshots in the neighborhood, according to a Facebook post by the school.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District announced on Twitter at 1:17 p.m. that an active shooter was present at the elementary school. Governor Greg Abbott stated that the shooter was armed with a handgun and may have also brought a rifle.

The suspect had been apprehended by 1:00 p.m., according to police. Salvador Ramos, an 18-year-old Uvalde High School student suspected of being the shooter, was also killed by responding law enforcement, according to later reports.

The shooter acted alone, according to police.

Victims

At first, only two deaths were confirmed, which corresponded to the number of people who had died by the time they arrived at the hospital. Later, Governor Greg Abbott announced that fourteen students and a teacher had been killed in a press conference. The death toll is still unknown.

Her family identified the deceased teacher as a fourth-grade teacher.

Tom Nordwick, CEO of Uvalde Memorial Hospital, said that 13 children had been taken to the hospital and that at least three injured people had been or would be transferred. Several other victims were taken to San Antonio’s University Hospital. As of May 24, three injured victims were hospitalized in “serious condition.” Governor Abbott stated that two officers were shot but suffered no serious injuries.
