Sarah Harding Career

Harding’s professional career began in 2002, when she gained a spot in the girl group Girls Aloud after auditioning for the ITV reality show Popstars: The Rivals. The group had twenty straight top ten singles in the UK (four of which were number ones), six studio albums certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), two of which reached number one in the UK, and five BRIT Award nominations.

Harding began acting during the group’s hiatus, featuring in films such as Bad Day, Freefall, Run for Your Wife, and St. Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold. Harding provided three solo songs to the St. Trinian’s 2 soundtrack.

Following in the footsteps of Penny Lancaster, Rachel Hunter, and Helena Christensen, Harding signed a £100,000 agreement to model Ultimo underwear in 2006. In 2007, Harding made a surprise appearance in St. Trinian’s with her Girls Aloud bandmates.

In 2008, she landed her first major acting role in the low-budget movie Bad Day. For the character of Jade Jennings, Harding wore a brunette wig. Donna Air and Claire Goose also appear in the picture. She also recorded a cover of “Real Wild Child” with London synthpop band Filthy Dukes for the film Wild Child.

Girls Aloud announced in July 2009 that they will take a year off to explore solo projects before reuniting for a new studio album in 2010.

Harding starred alongside Andy Moss in a UK tour of Ghost: The Musical in the autumn of 2016. Carolyn Maitland took her place in the middle of the tour after she pulled out owing to the discomfort she was experiencing as a result of her injuries after The Jump.

Harding won Celebrity Big Brother’s twentieth season in August 2017.

Harding released her farewell single, “Wear It Like a Crown,” on March 24, 2021, ten years after recording it.
