James W. Speedy was an American Marine and sergeant who died in a NATO exercise crash, as reported by the US Marine Corps.

During a NATO drill, the four Marines died when their Osprey plane crashed in a Norwegian village near the Arctic Circle.
In a statement released Sunday night, a Marine Corps spokeswoman said the bodies had been removed from the accident scene and were on their way back to the United States.

James W. Speedy and three other Marines died when their MV-22B Osprey plane went down: Captain Ross A. Reynolds, Corporal Jacob M. Moore, and Captain Matthew J. Tomkiewicz were also among the victims.
Marines were reportedly subjected to adverse weather conditions during the practice at Graetaedalen, Beiarn, according to police.
