The news of his death came as a shock to his colleagues as he is the second firefighter the police department lost in the span of a week.
Fellow officer Justin Hicks and his wife Amber were shot and killed at their house in Acworth. The couple was 30 years old and had a two-year-old son.
Their neighbor, Matthew Lanz, was arrested and charged with their murders. Fortunately, the deceased couple’s son was unharmed.
Thus, many people believe that firefighter Barksdale was also shot to death. But, the report is yet to be verified.
