Fi Glover and Jane Garvey are actually leaving the BBC to host a new Times Radio show and podcast. Their departure is greeted with mixed reactions.
Since 2017, the duo has co-hosted the popular Fortunately podcast for the company.
Fortunately will remain on BBC One until the end of the year, but the pair will launch a new podcast as well as a live weekday afternoon show on Times Radio.
The pair are the latest in a long line of BBC stars to venture into the commercial sector, joining Vanessa Feltz, Simon Mayo, Emily Maitlis, and Andrew Marr.
Garvey and Glover will co-host a program from 1500 to 1700 p.m., Monday through Thursday, covering the day’s news as well as their thoughts on it.
That show will premiere on October 10th. Times Radio added that more information about their new podcast would be released in due course.
Garvey has worked for the BBC for many years and was the first voice heard on Radio 5 Live when it first broadcast in 1994.
She later hosted Woman’s Hour on Radio 4 for 13 years, alternating with Dame Jenni Murray, until both left in 2020.
Glover began her BBC career in local radio before moving on to present a variety of shows on 5 Live. She has also hosted several Radio 4 shows, including The Listening Project and Two Rooms.
