Gabisile Tshabalala (born June 20, 1990) is a well-known South African actress and television personality. Her role in the TV drama Hola Mpinji made her popular.

Gabisile Tshabalala Early Life and Background

Gabisile was raised in Soshanguve, Pretoria, by her grandparents. When she was in elementary school, her mother remarried. Despite being a timid girl, she claims that her outgoing stepfather inspired her to come out of her shell, and that this is how she began to develop trust in herself. Gabisile Tshabalala does not hate her stepfather because he was the one who helped her gain confidence after she was labeled as a shy person.

Gabisile disliked going to school in high school and preferred to engage in extracurricular sports such as sports, dance, and cheerleading instead. Her days were spent either performing with Urram, her singing party, or learning to play the piano. She avoided going to school on a daily basis in matric and only went to classes to write assessments or examinations and apply assignments. Her mother, on the other hand, recognized her creativity and passion for the arts.

She studied at ATS Helicopters to train as an air hostess and to take acting lessons at Pretoria’s State Theatre. Despite her initial desire to be an air hostess, she instead decided to follow her mother’s advice to seek a career as a pilot.

So she juggled school and theatre lessons for three months before dropping out to devote her full attention to theatre.

Gabisile saw an ad for auditions for the SABC youth drama series Hola Mpintshi and went to the auditions, where she landed the part of Pinkie, the lead character, after two call backs.

Intersexions, a SABC 1 TV drama series, gave her her big break. The show opened many doors for her, and she went on to star in a number of SABC productions, including Fallen, Single Guys, Intersexions, and Generations, as well as two years on the e.tv soapie Scandal!

She appeared as a guest star in the Mzansi Magic sitcom Kota Life Crisis in 2014.
