Who is BJ Chomyi?

Somyi of DIA was initially left out of the group’s official ‘Flower 4 Seasons’ comeback in June 2020. Fans also noticed that Somyi had been absent from the group’s activities for the previous three years. Somyi was later seen as a BJ on the internet broadcasting platform ‘Panda TV’ in November 2021 under the broadcasting name ‘Chomyi’ (BJ Chomyi), surprise many followers.

Korean Broadcasting Jockey, or Korean BJ, is a word that is interchangeable with ‘Korean internet streamers.’ These BJs broadcast live to a live audience while engaging in a variety of activities like as conversing to followers, mukbang (eating a large platter of food), or gaming; nonetheless, the term’s original meaning mainly refers to streamers who indulge in sexual behaviors for their online viewers.

While the nature of Somyi’s (Chomyi’s) transmissions is unknown due to the fact that these streams are only available to Korean residents, Knetz stated that Somyi was observed transmitting to followers wearing tight clothing. Many Korean celebrities have become BJs in recent years as a result of the K-pop industry’s low paying concerns.

While many new idols have made their official debut in the Korean music industry, which has gotten a lot of international attention in recent years, Somyi, a former member of the girl group DIA, has turned to Korean Adult Broadcasting, also known as KBJ (Korean BJ), after becoming a Broadcasting Jockey (BJ) soon after she left the girl group, which debuted in 2015.

Ahn Som-yi (also known as Somyi) made her debut as a member of the septet DIA on MBK Entertainment’s subsidiary label PocketDol Studio. The 22-year-old idol took part in DIA’s promotional efforts as their lead dancer, vocalist, rapper, and maknae until her contract was canceled in 2022, five years after her debut.

Somyi’s departure from PocketDol Studio has been announced

The exclusive contract between the label and member Somyi was officially dissolved after five years on January 9, according to PocketDol Studio, the agency that administers DIA’s promotional operations. Somyi’s exclusive contract was terminated due to her health concerns, according to PocketDol Studio. Somyi joined DIA in April 2017 and released the studio album ‘YOLO’.

While Somyi’s label, PocketDol Studio, has not provided any additional information regarding the status of her contract termination, there has been much speculation in the Korean fanbase that Somyi’s abrupt transition into an adult broadcaster aka BJ could be the reason for her contract termination.
