Hilary Lorraine Devey CBE was an English businesswoman and television personality.
In 1996, Devey founded Pall-Ex, a palletized freight distribution company, with £112,000 from the sale of her house and car in the 1990s.

For her industrial contributions, she received the Vitalise Woman of the Year Award in 2008 and an Honorary Doctorate of Law from the University of Leicester in 2010.
Following the departure of James Caan from the show, she joined Dragon’s Den in February 2011. However, he departed to host the Channel 4 show The Intern.

She was awarded the CBE in 2013 for her commercial achievements as well as her charity initiatives.

Hilary Lorraine Devey’s only child is Mevlit Brewster-Ahmet. Hilary Devey died in Morocco on June 11, 2022, after a protracted illness.

Hussein, a Turkish businessman, was Hilary’s long-term companion. Because his father Hussein was already married to another lady with five children, Mevlit’s parents were unable to marry. Hilary discovered Mevlit’s drug use when he was 17, and he was at boarding school.

She booked him into a £7,500-a-week treatment center after learning of his addiction, but it took him two years to go off heroin with the use of an unique drug blocker implanted in his stomach.
Mevlit was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder and bipolar disorder, according to reports.
