Oklahoma State University awarded Alyce Faye McBride a bachelor’s degree in 1966.
She was the “queen” of Willard Hall at Oklahoma State before it was converted from a women’s dormitory to its current role as the home of the University’s College of Education.
She went on to earn master’s degrees in Educational Psychology and Vocational and Educational Counseling at Baylor University.
The future Eichelberger Cleese then relocated to London, where she studied child psychoanalysis under Anna Freud, working with troubled children from disadvantaged backgrounds at The Hampstead Clinic (founded by Freud in 1952), and earning a postgraduate diploma, the Diploma in the Maladjusted Child, from the University of London Institute of Education.
