What Happened To Will Friend
Friend was struck while sailing close to Masonboro Island in North Carolina during a thunderstorm. One week remained till his 34th birthday.
Friend was given a 20-minute resuscitation attempt by paramedics, but he was declared dead inside the ambulance, according to local television station WECT-TV.
According to the National Lightning Safety Council, it is the third death caused by lightning in the US this year.
The British businessman’s employers, the digital marketing firm Bisnow, announced his passing on Instagram and provided confirmation.
They wrote: “With profound sadness, we share some extremely difficult news: Will Friend, who took Bisnow to new heights as CEO, passes away at 33.” next to a picture of him giving a talk.
The cycling studio owned by Prince and Friend also shared a photo of Friend along with a statement applauding his pursuit of the “American Dream” and thanking him for his “education, guidance, and support.”
