Craig McPherson began his playing career with Greenock Morton, a team from his hometown, where he primarily occupied the left side of midfield while occasionally being utilized as a full-back by the team’s then-manager Allan McGraw. Later, McPherson played for Airdrieonians and Clyde.

After the Airdrieonians club shut down in 2002, he moved to Falkirk in accordance with manager Ian McCall. After one season in the Scottish Premier League and a promotion with Falkirk in 2005, he announced his retirement.

In 2009, McPherson made a comeback to Falkirk as the technical director of the academy.

Craig McPherson joined Morton as their assistant manager in 2014, and in May 2016 he agreed to a two-year extension. After leaving Morton after Jim Duffy was fired, McPherson joined Scottish League One Club Dumbarton in September 2018, but he departed the organization after Stephen Aitken was fired. He then came back a fortnight later as assistant manager after Jim Duffy was named Aitken’s replacement.

Craig McPherson In the late 1970s and early 1980s, focused on painting and printing landscapes of New York City, primarily at night. Mezzotint is a rare graphic medium that produces velvety black areas and tonal shifts by painstakingly roughening and burnishing a copper plate in order to prepare it for the ink. Yankee Stadium at Night, one of his most famous paintings, was inspired by his studio view on Washington Heights, on the very point of Manhattan.

His work has been called “cinematic,” with the nighttime images being compared to film noir. When describing pieces from this era, one curator stated that McCherson was “almost literally’sculpting with light’.”

McPherson’s first solo show took place at the A.M. Sachs Gallery on 57th Street in New York City in 1983. Grace Glueck, a critic for The New York Times, compared his works to those of Philip de Koninck, a 17th-century Dutch painter.

McPherson has had numerous solo shows in New York and international group exhibitions. His first museum retrospective debuted in 1998 at Cambridge University’s Fitzwilliam Museum in England, and it then toured to Glasgow, Scotland. In 2008
