Paul Henry Nargeolet’s career spans several decades and unique roles, starting with more than two decades of service in the French Navy. During his time in the navy, he ascended to the position of Commander.

Nargeolet developed a keen interest in deep submersibles and put his expertise to use in 1987 when he spearheaded the first recovery expedition of the Titanic. He continues to contribute to the understanding of this historical ship as the Director of Underwater Research for RMS Titanic, Inc. His work has been widely recognized and featured in multiple films and documentaries on the ship. Over his career, the French explorer has retrieved an astounding 5,000 artefacts from the Titanic, including a massive 20-tonne section of the ship’s hull for detailed examination.

Beyond his explorations of the Titanic, Nargeolet held directorial roles at CMURM, Aqua+, and DESM, all specializing in Deep Diving Equipment. According to the CMURM website, the Center for Maritime & Underwater Resource Management was established in 1994 as an applied research and outreach unit of the Department of Park, Recreation and Tourism Resources at Michigan State University.

Nargeolet has also utilized his deep-sea expertise as a self-employed consultant. Operating out of Greenwich, Connecticut, and Toulon, France, he has provided valuable advice and insights according to his LinkedIn page.
