Rachel True in 1991, made her television debut on the NBC sitcom The Cosby Show’s episode “Theo’s Final Final.”

She relocated to Los Angeles in 1993, when she made her acting debut as Chris Rock’s girlfriend in the comedy CB4. She appeared in episodes of Beverly Hills, 90210, Getting By, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Family Matters, Dream On, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, Beverly Hills, 90210, Moment of Truth: Stalking Back (1993), A Walton Wedding, and Getting By (1995).

She played a supporting part in the 1995 sensual vampire horror movie Embrace of the Vampire with Alyssa Milano.

She acted in a series of smaller, made-for-television movies in the years that followed, such as Social Nightmare (2013), Blood Lake: Attack of the Killer Lampreys (2014), Sharknado 2: The Second One (2014), and Sharknado: Heart of Sharkness (2015), all of which were produced by The Asylum (2015). True performed tarot card readings at Echo Park in 2017.

In 2020, True published True Heart Intuitive Tarot, Guidebook and Deck. In 2021, she made appearances in the horror movies Agnes and Horror Noire.

She joined the cast of the comedic series Harlem on Amazon Prime Video the following year. True was recast in her original role as Mary Jane Potman for the sequel to the 1998 cult comedy Half Baked that same year.
