A month has passed since Jamie Foxx was admitted to a hospital due to a “medical complication”. There has been little information regarding the versatile actor’s health condition since he fell sick.

In a statement on social media dated 12 April, Corinne Foxx, the actor’s daughter, informed, “My father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.” She continued to assure that prompt action and excellent care had set him on the path to recovery. “We recognize his beloved status and appreciate your prayers,” she added, requesting privacy for the family during this challenging period.

Over Foxx’s month-long hospital stay, conflicting reports about his health condition have surfaced. Most narratives indicate the actor is on the mend, but a source who spoke to Radar on 9 May suggested that his loved ones were “hoping for the best – but preparing for the worst”.

Key Information Regarding His Illness and Recovery

Every night, prayers are said for Foxx, who is highly regarded in Hollywood not just as an entertainer but as a good individual. Foxx himself took to social media on 3 May to express gratitude for the outpouring of support, stating, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed [prayer, heart and fox emoji].” A source close to him told TMZ on the same day that the actor “needs all the prayers and well-wishes his fans can muster”.

Foxx gave his thanks to Nick Cannon, who stepped in to host the Fox game show, Beat Shazam, in his absence. Beat Shazam shared on Instagram, “Everybody at FOX Entertainment wishes Jamie well as he continues his recovery, and we greatly appreciate Nick’s willingness to jump in and help this summer.”

Cannon expressed his support for Foxx, saying, “Man, I’m praying. I literally have been saying prayers out loud.” Kevin Hart, the comedian, hinted on 4 May that Foxx was recovering. In an appearance on the Impaulsive podcast, Hart told hosts Logan Paul and Mike Majlak, “The dope thing is that he’s getting better in his situation, and everybody’s prayers, everybody’s love, energy, all that stuff is seen and felt [by him].” Hart added, “In this case, you just want the guy to get out of the situation and get back home.”

On 9 May, Corinne shared a commercial featuring her and her father for Intel on social media. Several other celebrities have wished Foxx a speedy recovery on Instagram.

Foxx was in Georgia, USA, filming the upcoming Netflix movie Back in Action when he had to be taken to a healthcare facility. He is currently “under observation”, according to US media reports.

Foxx rejoined his past co-star from Any Given Sunday (1999) and Annie (2014), Cameron Diaz, for this movie. Diaz has since resumed filming while body doubles fill in for Foxx. This movie, directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses), is Diaz’s first since she took a break from acting in 2014.

The film is marked as an action-comedy, but specifics about the plot are tightly guarded. The cast also includes Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts, and Rylan Jackson.

Foxx is renowned as one of the kindest and most gifted stars in Hollywood, recognized as much for his multifaceted career as his acting, singing, dancing, and comedic skills.

In a recent profile with The Rake, Foxx stated, “To be honest, I don’t consider myself famous, I really don’t.” He elaborated that throughout his career, he’s been a person people could relate to rather than a ‘celebrity.’ “It’s important to keep good
