Ned Nwoko, also known as Prince Chinedu Munir Nwoko, is a Nigerian lawyer, politician, and philanthropist. He was born on December 21, 1960. Between 1999 and 2003, he served as a representative for Aniocha North-South and Oshimili North-South in the House of Representatives. [Reference needed] He embarked on a symbolic voyage to Antarctica in January 2020 to launch a project to eradicate malaria. He was the first black African to travel to the South Pole of Antarctica as a result.
He studied at King’s College London as well, earning an LLM in marine and business law there. Later, Ned Nwoko was summoned to Lincoln’s Inn’s English bar.
Nwoko graduated as a solicitor of the supreme court of England and Wales after beginning his legal career as a crown prosecutor. Before founding Ned Nwoko & Co Solicitors in London, he worked at Kumars Solicitors and Pascaldiers & Co Solicitors. [Reference needed]
Nwoko served as the secretary general of the Nigerian Legal Practitioners UK and a visiting adviser for the London-based Citizens’ Advice Bureau. He was awarded an honorary doctorate in science by the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun FUPRE, Delta state, and an honorary doctorate in letters (D.Litt.) by Commonwealth University College, Belize.
In December 1998, Nwoko went back to Nigeria to help with the establishment of a workable democratic institution there after the military had been removed from power following many years of military tyranny.
