Ian Worang Career

In 2001, Ian Worang and Jake Fairley co-founded Uncut. After releasing a 12″ together, Fairley moved on, and Worang decided to expand Uncut into a full band, bringing in guitarists Chris McCann and Sam Goldberg, drummer Jon Drew, and bassist Derek Tokar. Uncut’s first two albums, Those Who Were Hung Hang Here in 2004 and Modern Currencies in 2006, were both released on Paper Bag Records. Infinite Repeats, the band’s third full-length album, was released in 2013.

Worang also played bass in the Two Koreas and the Diableros, two Toronto indie rock bands, in addition to Uncut. He was also a member of Bishop Morocco, a Canadian new wave band, and played guitar on their six-track EP Old Boys, released through Arts & Crafts in 2012.

Several members of the Canadian music community, including Outside Music, author Naben Ruthnum, and the band Aim Low, have paid respect to Worang online.
