Neil Parish (born 26 May 1956) is an English Conservative politician who has represented Tiverton and Honiton in the House of Commons since 2010. From 1999 until 2009, he was a member of the European Parliament (MEP) for South West England. Parish was chosen Chair of the Select Committee on Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs in June 2015. He had the Conservative party whip suspended on April 29, 2022, pending an inquiry over charges that he watched pornography in the House of Commons chamber during a debate. After admitting to the allegations, he declared his desire to quit as an MP the next day.
Parish was elected as the Member of Parliament for Tiverton and Honiton on May 6, 2010. Parish received 27,614 votes, or 50.3 percent of the total votes cast, bringing the Conservative vote up 3.6 percent. With a majority of 9,320 votes, he was elected.
Parish was chosen to the Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs Select Committee in June 2010. The committee is appointed by the House of Commons to review the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and its affiliated public organisations, such as the Environment Agency and Natural England, for expenditure, administration, and policy.
