A now-viral video claimed that rapper Goonew’s body was made public at a “disrespectful final show.”

The video, which was shared on Twitter by a Twitter user, shows the body being held up onstage during a screening at Bliss Nightclub. While music was playing, several people were observed loitering about his corpse, snapping pictures with it.

The venue has issued a “celebration of life” entrance pass for the hip-hop legend.

XXL’s sources thought it was a wax figure at first, but rapper Black Fortune, who was present, confirmed there was no “wax figure” at all.

The viewing drew immediate criticism for allegedly disrespecting Goonew after his death. Bliss Nightclub has since issued an apology and provided additional information on the event.

“Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Goonew’s family, friends, and fans. A local funeral home approached Bliss about renting out our space for Goonew’s farewell celebration. Bliss was completely unaware of what was about to happen. We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been offended or angered by our actions “According to Complex, the club informed XXL.

Rapper Goonew: What Happened to Him?

The public viewing took place just weeks after his management told The Washington Post that he had died. He died after being transferred to a nearby hospital following a shooting incident on March 18, according to the news site.

Patrice Parker Morrow, Goonews’ mother, told local CBS affiliate WUSA9 that she and the rest of the family couldn’t believe what had happened to their son.

“He only wanted to get his family out of the neighborhood. When they took him, they took me because he had a heart bigger than his body “”Says the matriarch,” she says.

When he released his first mixtape, “Certified Goon,” in 2017, the 24-year-old musician officially entered the industry. The following year, he released the tracks “Goonwick,” “Big 64,” and “Goonrich Urkel.”

Prior to his death, he was well-known for his collaborations with various hip-hop artists, particularly with his longtime partner Lil Dude. In recent years, the duo has been able to create mixtapes and singles, including “Homicide Boat.” In the years leading up to his death, he also performed with Kayvo, Xanman, Keezah, and A$AP Ant.
