Sterling “Scoot” Freeman Henderson, born on February 3, 2004, is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Originally from Marietta, Georgia, he attended Carlton J. Kell High School where he was ranked as a five-star recruit.
At just 17 years old, Henderson graduated early from high school and signed a contract with the Ignite, making him the youngest player ever in the history of the G League. In his second season, his prowess and leadership were recognized as he was chosen to be a captain of the G League Next Up Game. Crystal Henderson, Scoot’s mother, is a healthcare administrator. She co-owns the Next Play 360 training facility alongside her husband, demonstrating her commitment to the development of young athletes and the sport of basketball.
